| Dear Friends and Visitors,
Welcome to the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) website! We hope you will enjoy learning about our organization and all of our exciting initiatives.
As the only nationwide training organization of its kind, the NAFTC is proud to offer training that provides participants with the most up-to-date information on alternative fuels, alternative fuel vehicles, and advanced technology vehicles. Our curricula cover everything from general audience awareness, to first responder safety training, advanced technician training on hybrid electric vehicles, and much more.
Since opening our doors in 1992, we have grown, increasing our membership every year. With 50 National and Associate Training Centers, the NAFTC has extended its educational outreach to instructors, technicians, students, first responders, and many others. We have also significantly expanded our reach with new curricula and increased numbers of trainings through partnerships and funding from the U.S. Department of Energy.
National AFV Day Odyssey, our premier biennial event that promotes the use of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, occurred October 15, 2010. The event attracted more than 230,000 attendees and reached more than 98 million people through media coverage.
At the NAFTC, we are dedicated to lessening our nation’s dependence on oil, increasing our nation’s energy security, and improving our environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
We hope you enjoy exploring our website and encourage you to sign up for the NAFTC eNews, which will allow you to stay informed on NAFTC and industry news. Join us in spreading the word about alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, and together we can help to create a healthy and sustainable future!
Sincerely,
Al Ebron NAFTC Executive Director
