Chevy Volt Tops Consumer Reports’ Owner Satisfaction Survey for Second Consecutive Year December 2012

For the second year in a row, theChevy Volthas topped theConsumer Reports’ Owner Satisfaction Survey, a survey distributed annually by the Consumer Reports’ National Research Center. When asked to consider all of the factors (including price, performance, reliability, comfort, and enjoyment), 92% of Volt owners responded that they would “definitely” buy the vehicle again. The Volt also topped the Owner Satisfaction Survey in 2011, with 93% of Volt owners responding that they would definitely purchase the Volt again.“The Volt’s two-year reign at the top of our satisfaction survey points to the continuing trend of owners’ enthusiasm for cars that are fuel-efficient cars, especially as we see more and more hybrid and electric models hitting the market.” said Consumer Reports’ Auto Editor Rik Paul. “The combination of sporty handling and strong engine performance also goes a long way in building loyalty and generating excitement among owners.”Among the 44 models that achieved the Consumers Reports’ top owner satisfaction rating, ten were fuel-efficient vehicles, including the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Prius, Prius C, and Nissan Leaf. In order to qualify for a top rating, models had to garner support from at least 80 percent of owners.This year, Consumer Reports’ survey covered almost 350,000 vehicles and more than 240 models, spanning the 2010 through 2013 model years.The full report on the Consumer Reports’ Owner Satisfaction Survey will be available in its January issue.
