Our automotive training includes both classroom and lab experiences that will teach you how to repair, service, and maintain automobiles of all different makes and models. Class time is spent studying theory, the servicing and operation of brakes, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance, steering/suspension, automatic transmission/transaxles, engine repair, climate control, and manual drive trains.

At the completion of the Automotive Technology Program, you will be able to: 

  • apply broad, in-depth knowledge of basic automotive systems encountered in a typical repair environment and be able to fully utilize service information
  • perform basic electrical and mechanical diagnosis, measurement, and repair of vehicles using appropriate tools, equipment, procedures, and service information
  • describe the operation of, diagnose, and repair complex control systems using appropriate test equipment and service information

Upon completion, you’ll not only be prepared to take the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) exam, but will also be ready to enter the workforce as a full-time, automotive service technician, working in a dealership, fleet shop, or independent repair shop.

The Automotive Systems Technology program prepares individuals for employment as entry-level transportation service technicians. The program provides an introduction to transportation industry careers and increases student awareness of the diverse technologies associated with this dynamic and challenging field. The Automotive Systems Technology Program is NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) accredited training to the MAST (Master Automotive Service Technician) level.
