NAFTC National Training Center Profile

On October 1, 2004, the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) moved to a new headquarters building located at Ridgeview Business Park in Morgantown, WV. With approximately 11,800 square feet of space, the facility houses the NAFTC’s offices, classrooms and automotive laboratory.

The building features a 5-bay automotive shop that includes a dynamometer bay, a lift bay, and three automotive bays. The state-of-the-art automotive training lab includes space used for student learning activities, as well as diagrams/displays for alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle instruction. Various hands-on training equipment, such as a natural gas slow-fill refueling station and a biodiesel production reactor, add to the real-world training experience received at the NAFTC.

NAFTC National Training Center Profile

The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) at New River Community and Technical College works in partnership with the College’s Center for Workforce Education to provide a variety of customized programs to address the need for a highly skilled workforce. Business and community leaders across the region serve as advisors to our administration, which that New River’s programs are in-sync with their needs.

The 93,000 square foot Advanced Technology Center, dedicated in October 2010, is being used to train workers for 12 key industry segments – automotive and diesel technology, mining and energy, weatherization, hospitality and leisure, green buildings systems, manufacturing, line service mechanic, HVAC, CDL, heavy equipment operator, welding and pipe welding, horticulture/landscaping, and GIS-surveying. The facility also promotes entrepreneurialism and serves as an incubator for business development and acceleration.
